FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How are sessions conducted?

All sessions are held online via Zoom. You don’t need a subscription — just a device with internet access and a quiet space where you can relax. Zoom is simple to use, and I’m happy to walk you through the setup if you need support. It’s easy and stress-free!

Is hypnosis as effective on Zoom or remote sessions?

Yes! Hypnosis is just as effective remotely as it is in person. In fact, many clients find being in the comfort of their own space actually helps them relax more deeply. As long as you have a quiet, uninterrupted environment and a stable internet connection, you’ll receive the same powerful benefits of hypnosis — all from home.

What can I expect in my first hypnotherapy session?

Your first session is all about getting to know you and helping you feel safe and supported. We’ll start with a conversation about your goals, history, and what you’d like to shift or heal. I’ll explain how hypnotherapy works, answer any questions, and gently guide you into a deeply relaxed state where we can access the subconscious mind. You’ll be fully aware and in control the whole time. Most clients leave feeling calm, empowered, and more connected to themselves.

Hypnosis FAQ

What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a relaxed state of body and mind where we become highly attuned to both our outer and inner experience. Similar to meditation or being in the zone of creative expression, hypnosis is a state of comfortable focus that everyone flows in and out of throughout the day. Similar to a computer, our subconscious mind holds programming so we can efficiently complete tasks without full conscious thought. In hypnosis we can easily connect and renovate this programming for improved lifestyle, health and prosperity.

What does Hypnosis feel like?

Since hypnosis is a state of ease, most find it very relaxing and restorative. Unlike times where you are utilizing your conscious thinking mind, like learning something new, hypnosis is a state where you are working from your subconscious, the space where we store pre-programed task performances. Watching T.V., driving, and reading are all examples of hypnotic states. Hypnosis feels familiar because it IS familiar.

What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy utilizes hypnosis, an open state of mind where we become receptive to insights and self-discovery to help you shift perception around limiting patterns and beliefs that are no longer serving your highest good. Hypnotherapy is a collaborative process where you will be conscious and engaged as you foster growth, healing and inner-transformation.

What can hypnotherapy help with?

Hypnotherapy is a powerful tool for creating positive change in many areas of life. It works by accessing the subconscious mind, where beliefs, patterns, and habits are stored, allowing you to transform old programming and create new, empowering perspectives.

It can help with:

  • Building confidence and self-esteem
  • Shifting limiting beliefs and perspectives
  • Empowering healthy lifestyle changes
  • Breaking cycles of addiction or harmful habits
  • Reducing stress and anxiety
  • Improving sleep and overall well-being

Can anyone be hypnotised?

Yes, everybody can be hypnotised, however, not all people and hypnotists are created equal. To achieve an effective hypnotic state several contributing factors must align. If you have tried hypnosis and it did not work, that does not mean that you can’t be hypnotised, it may, however, mean that one or many elements did not align. With extensive professional training a master hypnotherapist is competent in attuning to their clients needs, language style and suggestibility preferences. These essential skills, along with client agreement, ensure a safe and successful hypnosis session.

Can I be controlled in hypnosis?

No, not at all. You will be awake, aware, and in control of the entire session.
Hypnotherapy is a powerful yet gentle modality of healing that helps one to align with their already existing persona, hopes and dreams. Hypnosis is a state of vigilant clarity, thus, you cannot be made to do anything you would not normally do. While in hypnosis you will be hearing and receiving the positive messages for change that help you move closer to your goals, ultimately closer to your authentic self.

What can I expect in a first hypnosis session?

In your first hypnotherapy session you should plan for a full hour to an hour and a half block of time, as this session can sometimes run a little longer than the successive sessions that are a clinical hour, 50 minutes. To begin, you will explain your presenting issue along with any goals and aspirations you have. You can expect that you will always be met with unconditional positive regard and compassion as you explain your presenting issue. Hypnotherapists often utilize therapeutic questioning to help both them and you understand challenges from a different or deeper level. In detail, the process of hypnosis and its benefits will be explained. All questions and concerns are welcome and will be answered. Through a gentle induction you will then be guided into the relaxing state of hypnosis where you will be given the customized suggestions that help you create the change you are working towards. Before your departure you will be fully awake and aware, feeling the calming and restorative effects of hypnotherapy.

Will I have results in one session? How long does it take?

The amount of hypnotherapy sessions required is dependent on many factors including the type of issue and how long it has been present in your life. At times, one session is sufficient for client satisfaction, if more sessions are recommended it will be advised in your initial consultation. Because I confront each issue with efficiency and effectivity, my clients often return with new, different opportunities for growth. Also consider that hypnotherapy is a cooperative process. Your enthusiasm and engagement will enhance your results.

Can I be stuck in hypnosis?

No. Just like daydreaming you can easily awaken yourself at any time. Your hypnotherapist will ensure that you are wide awake and alert before you leave the session.

Is hypnosis a truth serum?

No. You cannot be compelled to say or do anything you would not normally do in hypnosis.

Is hypnosis real?

Yes, Hypnosis is real and your mind and body are already very familiar with it. It is a relaxed, focused state like when you are driving a car, playing a video game or watching a movie. In hypnotherapy, a hypnotherapist will gently guide you into this trance-like state as it is a state or receptivity. While in hypnosis, you will be given positive suggestions that enable change.

Do you take insurance?

My hypnotherapy and coaching services are not covered by insurance. It is an out of pocket expense.

Energy Healing FAQ

What is energy healing, and how does it work?

Energy healing is a holistic practice that works with the body’s subtle energy systems to remove blocks, promote balance, and restore flow. It supports your physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being by helping your nervous system regulate, releasing stored emotions, and reconnecting you with your natural state of peace and clarity. While the experience is different for everyone, many people report feeling lighter, more grounded, or deeply relaxed after a session.

What can I expect during a session?

You’ll be guided into a calm, meditative state while I intuitively work with your energy. In the 30-minute session, we’ll focus primarily on energetic clearing and balance. The 60-minute session includes a deeper level of cognitive insight woven into the process to help bring clarity to what’s arising. You’ll remain comfortably seated or lying down with your eyes closed, and you don’t need to do anything other than relax and receive.

Do I need to believe in energy healing for it to work?

No — energy healing doesn’t require belief, only an open mind. Whether or not you fully understand or “believe” in it, your system knows how to receive what it needs. These sessions work gently with your body’s own intelligence and are supportive on both conscious and subconscious levels.

Is this like Reiki?

It’s similar in that it involves channeling energy and supporting the body’s natural healing process, but I use a more intuitive, blended approach that includes elements of guided meditation, energy attunement, and insight-based coaching depending on the session.

Can energy healing replace therapy or medical treatment?

Energy healing is a complementary support and not a substitute for medical or mental health care. It can work beautifully alongside other treatments, but it’s not meant to diagnose or treat any medical or psychiatric condition.

How should I prepare for my session?

Find a quiet, comfortable space where you won’t be disturbed. You may want to lie down or sit upright with a blanket and headphones. Bring a journal nearby in case you’d like to jot down insights afterward. Come with an open heart and allow yourself to simply receive.

What might I feel during or after a session?

You may feel warmth, tingling, emotional release, deep calm, or nothing at all — and it’s all valid. Sometimes the effects are subtle and unfold over the hours or days afterward. Trust that your system is receiving what it needs, even if the experience isn’t dramatic in the moment.
